Intro to Multicultural Literature

Hi my name is Sydney! I’m a Speech and Hearing Science major and I’m on the cross country and track teams.

I am an early childhood development major and this semester will be my fourth at SUNY Cortland. I am twenty-two years old and am from Binghamton, NY. I absolutely love all things English literature related and I’m really looking forward to what we will read this semester.

I am from Skaneateles, NY and it’s only 30 minutes away from Cortland. I’m an early childhood/ childhood education major. I like to read romance and mystery books. I have played volleyball for 7 years. I watched a ton of tv over break. I’m excited to read more this semester!

Hi everybody! My name is Emma Ruch, I am nineteen years old and from Staten Island, New York. I recently changed my major to Inclusive Education with a concentration in English. Back home I am a lifeguard and a swim instructor, this is something I love to do because it helps others. It also gives me the chance to build friendships with my coworkers and the kids that I teach. Some things I enjoy doing are listening to music, hanging out with my friends, and going on adventures/ trying new things.

Hi everyone! My name is Lindsey and I am a junior Inclusive Childhood Education major with a concentration in Humanities. My pronouns are she/her/hers and I am 20 years old. I transferred to Cortland in the fall from a small community college in Binghamton. I’m excited about this class because I’ve always had a strong suit in english and writing (plus I’m trying to get as many english classes out of the way until I have to take the dreaded math courses). A few things I enjoy doing are watching movies and binge-watching TV shows, taking naps, reading, reading tarot cards, and hanging out with my COVID-negative friends! I look forward to seeing what this semester holds and makig new friends!

I am from Syracuse NY and I’m a freshman. My major is inclusive early childhood education. This semester I have decided to take all of my classes from home. I enjoy swimming, making coffee, and hanging out with my friends. During break I watched a lot of Netflix and got a job at Office Max. I am looking forward to the readings in this class.

I am from Queens,NY and I am in my sophomore year. My major is Speech and Hearing Science and I plan on becoming a Speech language pathologist in the future. Sadly, I am staying home this semester and doing all of my classes online. I am hoping to improve my writing this semester and I am looking forward to reading the books assigned for this class. A fun fact about me is that I am a lifeguard, during the summer I work at an outdoor pool and during the winter I work at an indoor facility. I am excited to see what this semester holds!

Hi, my name is Erin and I am a sophomore majoring in Speech and Hearing Science. I am from Rockland County, NY and am doing all of my classes from home this semester. A few things that I enjoy are hanging out with friends, working out and skiing. I am looking forward to this class!

My name is Greta Simmonds and I’m from the Cortland area. I commute to Suny Cortland if needed but this semester all of my classes are online. I’m a Pre-Major/undecided right now and I am a freshman at campus but considered a sophomore. I’m looking forward to this course because english and writing are my strong suits and I enjoy writing. I’ve been working out everyday since the start of the new year and I plan on continuing to do so throughout the semester. A fun fact about me is that I plan on joining the military after this semester. I’ve been interested in the military for some time but I also have to decide my major after this semester, something I know won’t happen. The military is a great option for me and I plan on joining the National Guard Reserves. I’m very excited for this semester and I look forward to meet all of you.

Hey! My name is Delayne and I am a freshman. I am from Buffalo, NY and am very excited to take this class! Some of my favorite things to do are spending time with friends, writing, adventuring (hiking, biking, etc.) and spending time with my dogs. I ended up staying home and doing my first semester all online and this semester I am coming to campus so I am very excited about that since I have a couple in-person classes! I look forward to meeting you all!
